What progression actually gates

Progression in WARDOGS runs on parallel tracks rather than one level. Each track advances with the kind of play it represents, and unlocks are gated behind both a level on that track and a cash cost — so reaching the level does not hand you the item, it merely makes the item purchasable.

The totals are large on purpose. Unlocking everything across all tracks runs into the millions of in-game dollars, and the most expensive single unlock is an order of magnitude beyond what a good session earns. That is a deliberate long horizon, not a wall you are expected to hit quickly, and it means the top of the tree is irrelevant to how you should play this month.

Specialise early, generalise later. Because tracks advance separately, spreading play across all of them advances none of them noticeably. Picking the track that matches what you already enjoy doing will unlock useful things sooner than trying to keep everything level.

Unlock cost and purchase cost are different numbers. An item with a modest purchase price can sit behind a large one-off unlock, and the unlock is what you are saving for. Budget them separately: the unlock comes out of your reserve, the purchase comes out of your working balance each round.

Nothing you unlock early is wasted, which makes the order forgiving. Unlocks are permanent and the currency is persistent, so an unlock bought for a playstyle you later abandon is a detour rather than a loss. That is worth knowing because the tree looks intimidating from the bottom: the cost of choosing wrong is time, not a ruined account.

Levels, tracks and costs here are recorded from the progression menu as observed in the build, and anything not yet seen is left blank. Early Access means these figures can and will move between patches.
