Carried equipment

Grenades, medical, recon, tools and supplies — the things you stow in a grid rather than wear in a slot. A further 3 are still price-pending at the source and are left out rather than shown with an invented figure; they remain in the loadout builder, unpriced.

Carrying capacity is measured in inventory slots. The helmet, body armour, tactical vest, backpack and parachute slots each take one item.

Gear Stats

Gear is the cheapest way to change how you play

WARDOGS has 23 gear items across 5 exclusive slots: Helmet, Body Armor, Tactical Vest, Backpack, and Parachute. Each slot takes exactly one item, so gear choices do not stack — every pick is a trade, not an upgrade path.

Backpacks: capacity is a shape, not a number

The game lists 8 backpacks, from the free Pouch (6 slots) to the $5,000 Arsenal. But the advertised capacity hides the real constraint: how the space is divided.

  • The Pouch is three sealed 1×2 pockets. It physically cannot hold anything two cells wide, even when empty.
  • The Ruck is a clean 4×6 grid that accepts awkward items without argument.
  • Everything past the Ruck is priced for slings, not slots — the inventory guide breaks down the whole range.

Shape determines what fits. Capacity only tells you how many cells exist, not whether those cells are usable for your loadout.

Helmets: one good step, then diminishing returns

Helmet protection runs from 30 to 65, priced from $200 to $3,000.

The jump from Light → Medium is the best-value increase in the entire gear list. Beyond that, protection improves slowly while cost rises sharply — which is more reasonable than it looks, because surviving a round refunds 90% of the price. The real cost of a helmet is tied to how often you extract, not how much protection you wish you had.

Buy gear before you buy weapons

A backpack and a helmet together cost less than most rifles and change more about your round:

  • The backpack determines what you can bring home.
  • The helmet determines whether you get to.

Most players buy weapons first. It is the single cheapest mistake in the game.

Slots are exclusive — you cannot stack your way out of a decision

Each gear slot accepts one item and only one. A heavier helmet does not compensate for a smaller pack. A larger vest does not offset weaker armor. Gear choices compete with each other — they do not accumulate.

Carrying capacity and weight

Carrying capacity is measured in inventory slots. Weight is shown where the game publishes it and left blank where it does not.
