How we verify
The verification pipeline
- Source found — an official Blizzard publication is registered (blizzard.com or battle.net only).
- Data extracted — individual facts are drafted from the article, in our own words.
- Review — an editor checks each fact against the article.
- Verification — a second person confirms the source is genuine and the fact is stated explicitly.
- Publish — only then does a record become public, with its source, date and verifier recorded.
The database itself refuses to publish a record without an official, verified source — this is enforced by PostgreSQL constraints, not just by the website.
What the badges mean
- Officially confirmed: Confirmed by an official Blizzard source.
- Blizzard has explicitly confirmed this in an official publication.
- Official — details pending: Officially announced by Blizzard; full details have not been published yet.
- Blizzard has announced it, but has not published the details yet.
- Changed: Superseded by newer official information. Kept for history.
- Newer official information replaced this. It is kept in the history, never deleted.
- Retired: No longer current. Kept for history.
- No longer current. Kept for history.
What we never publish
- Rumors, leaks or datamined data (spell IDs, unannounced zones, items, bosses…)
- Speculation — no “likely” or “probably” in the database
- Claims from fan sites, forums, videos or social media unless Blizzard itself said it
- Estimated coordinates, drop rates, dates or numbers
Where something is unknown, records say “Not officially confirmed by Blizzard.”

We summarize official information briefly and always link to the original article. Blizzard articles are not reproduced.
Images are official Blizzard images from the cited articles, self-hosted, credited to Blizzard Entertainment and linked to the article they come from. Each image is shown only where the article section clearly depicts that record; images Blizzard did not label are shown in section galleries instead. Logos are not used. If you hold rights in an image and want it removed, say so through the contact page.
